Restore it now, cherish it forever.

We create it. We restore it. We protect it. We cherish it.

While rich in biodiversity, Southeast Queensland boasts some of the country’s most threatened flora and fauna species. Our goal is to protect these species, from koalas and Swift parrots through to blue gum and melaleuca irbyana.

And how do we achieve this? It’s simple. We create habitat in strategically important corridors. The best quality habitat, and lots of it. In fact, no one creates habitat like we do.

Because we know that if we restore it now, it will be cherished forever.

While our focus is on the environment, the benefits extend beyond the ecosystems we protect, with very real social, economic and research outcomes that will have a lasting impact on the world around us.

Our story

Cherish the Environment, a not-for-profit based in Southeast Queensland, was formed in 2011 with the goal of delivering positive environmental outcomes for the City of Ipswich, as part of a joint venture with the local council.

Under the guidance of our experienced board and with the support of ambassador Pat Rafter, Cherish has delivered several habitat restoration and protection projects since its inception, with a focus on protecting a number of endangered species, including the iconic koala, through the provision of quality habitat.
